| I am using a lap top right now, but would eventually like a desktop. NO MACS. What kind of pc should i get?
I'm not much of a pc gamer, but i like writing, videos, movies, music and pictures, and lots of each. My budget will be very tight, because of me moving out within a few months. I have a friend willing to build me a pc, so if i find that there isn't one that i can't find that i like, i'll have him build it. That leads me to my next question, what parts should i look for?
Thanks in advance, if you have more questions for me, post em and i'll answer as soon as i can!

| I am an AMD guy. I just am...I recently built a new rig. AMD Phenom II X2 555, Cooler Master Hyper 212+ CPU Cooler, Gigabyte mATX mother board, 4GB of Crucial RAM, ATI Radeon 5550 GPU, 500GB Hitachi HDD, Corsair 430W PSU, Windows 7 Home 64 bit, Xigmatek Asgard Case, 25" Hanspree monitor. Total price just over $700.00 Here are all the parts- All put together- In the den with 2nd 15" monitor connected also.- If you don't want to run multiple monitors, you will be fine with a motherboard with integrated graphics. I will be adding another 25" monitor, so, the 5550 was a necessity. Any 5xxx series and above ATI/AMD GPU will run 3 or more monitors. If you want to spend less than $600 or so, you are most likely better off buying a prebuilt computer. If you want to spend a little more, you can get more by building your own. Also, if you want to pirate your operating system, you will save another $100. HAVE FUN! | |

yeah, i really like the sound of motoko's computer specs. I don't think i'll be needing more than one monitor, but i think it might be pretty cool to have. If it can be done for 500, you've got yourself a deal. I don't have the money for it now, nor do i need a computer right now. But sometime this year i will want one after i move out, so this is incredibly helpful! Thank you guys!
