Apples iPad 2

I played around with an iPad and honestly didn't like it, just use a droid phone or get an iPhone.

The iPad looks pretty, but that's about all it has goin, no flash support is terrible, no camera, way way way overpriced, and the apps are at least 3 times as much for the iPad, I'm happy with my 64 gig touch...

ipad 2 is in white, has decent hardware, wouldnt buy it unless it were 150 bucks cheaper tho, and id still hack it and run linux

yeah linux distro. ios is unix based(its exact kernel osx uses) i would just compile ubuntu netbook remix or perhaps root it for android

Then why would you buy an iPad when there are more powerful Android tablets on the market?

In my opinion, tablets don't have a clearly defined market section. They're too big to carry around as internet and communication devices like smartphones are, you can't get enough work done on-the-go with them like you can with a portable laptop, and they don't come close to providing the performance of a decent desktop. They're kind-of useful for people who are on their feet, such as the staff at the Apple store who take orders and book-ins, and maybe to replace pen and paper in the future in education.

if the ipad 2 were 150 bucks cheaper like i wished, u couldnt find an android with a dualcore with same gpu power and performance for 350 bucks. ipad 2 starts at 499

latest info i got had 16 as 499 here, 32 as 6 something and the 64 at around 800

I'm talking about in the UK. The iPad starts at £419 and that's equivalent to around $680 for the 16GB WiFi model. You have it a LOT cheaper so don't complain about prices

i just cant justify that price for something that has less performance than my dell laptop. cant do it.

I'm happy with my selection of mobile devices. I don't see anything the ipad does better than them.
My CR-48 is great for work and web browsing, my ipod touch and android phone are useful for miscellaneous tasks.

I also wouldn't buy one because of how much I've had to work around apple when messing with my ipod. And the fact that I have to risk breaking it to replace the battery myself (or pay apple 1/3 the original price).

Google has promised to ship out ~60,000, so far they've shipped a little over 20,000. You definitely have a chance, especially if you live in a zip code with a low geek population.

I applied as a developer about a week after the pilot program started.
I helped my sister apply shortly afterwards.

If you don't feel like waiting you can always buy a cheap eee and install chrome on it... but that's not the same. (I almost shut down the cr-48 while typing this as the power button is where I'm used to delete being...)
